I don't think it will be so hard for me to give up soda. I don't know why. And I could be wrong, but you never know. I'll still drink a wee bit on holidays and family get togethers, but not nearly as much as I used to. I'm sort of drawing back from a lot of things lately, but the difference is that I think it's good to pull back from these things.

I'm going to start looking at nonprofit organizations to apply to. The concept is interesting to me, and Professor Ellingson recommended that I take a look, and that was years ago. I think I could like it.

I baked my first loaf of bread yesterday. I don't know if it counts, because it was with a Breadmaker. But let me tell you, you can still mess that up. Because I did. But the good thing is that the bread's still edible. It just looks wonky. I kind of want to make my own jam now. I think next weekend I'll just stick to trying to make a loaf of wheat bread.

The squirrels at our house are absolutely insane.

EDIT: I need to post a novel excerpt for my fricken NaNo. This shouldn't be as hard as I'm making it out to be.

Yeah, November is a horrible time of year for this sort of thing. It's about time for finals, getting ready for the holidays and so forth. Then again, I think just about any time of year is bad for this sort of thing, so it might as well be November...

This is true. I think the only time it would be maybe better is during the summer months, but who wants to sit inside all summer writing? I kind of like that it's in November, for that reason, because I am more inclined to sit inside with a blanket and cup of tea and read or write.

How's yours going?

Slow - I've got a midterm next friday and a big project I'm working on... But I barely got 3,000 words last year due to my personal life, and I should have no problem far surpassing that this year. I'm not sure if I'll be able to win NaNo this year - if I do, it'll be in the last week of the month.

But I'm really happy with my story idea, it's a fun one to write and should be a little different :)

Oo good luck on those. Progress is still progress, I say. And especially if you like your story idea. Sounds brilliant!

December might be cool. It's like November, but with no school.
