dorcas is my muse.

(no subject)

Monday morning fun.

I walked in and got assaulted by Mr. Carlos.  Apparently someone was supposed to come in to work last night and didn't do the work, so the two of us did the work as fast as possible.  We had to make sure the entire building was set up and pretty before the big boss came in from his month of vacation.

Work has been pretty good today.  I like really productive days.  Our system was down this morning but came up a few hours later, and I have been booking it since.  It's such a pretty day outside, and I've had to run a few errands.

Scott starts school today.  He's pretty excited about it.  I'm really glad for him and somewhat envious, but hopefully I will get to go for my masters soon enough.  My master plan is to work on campus.  After a year of working there, tuition is free, so if I can balance working two jobs and taking classes, I have it made.  AND my loans from my undergraduate career will be deferred, and the interest rate locked.  SO GOOD.  I hope it works out.

I have leftover Thai food for lunch.  Yellow curry with chicken and rice and Pad Thai.  Mmm goodness.  Mindy and I are planning to go to this Japanese restaurant near campus for dinner on Thursday, as I will be working an extra long day.  One office 8-4, the second 4-10.

OH.  vintagefury : I can take you and mirei on Sept. 17th, no problem.  Happy days!

I can't believe summer is almost over.  Everyone says that.  It's going to be a busy year, and I really need to pull it together this time.  Retake the GRE (horrible, horrible test).  Get that damn 8-5 job, and get that volunteer position for weekends.  Apply to an assload of grad programs.  Well, things are already busy, but I will make it a necessity to stay in contact with friends and spend time with Scott.  We are planning to go to Carmel this weekend to chill.  One night there, and Saturday and Sunday to walk around and relax and read (recreation for me, academic for Scott).  I'm sure the weather will be nice too.

My prayers for all the people whose lives are being tortured by the hurricane.  I love those couples who are part of the Red Cross Organization who take their little ambulance-like vans and are willing to drive there to help out in any way they can.  In a way, I wish I could do that too.  To give so selflessly is such a touching thing.

Have a nice day.
